- I am a high school English teacher at North Vista Education Center, an alternative school for pregnant and parenting teens in Robbinsdale, MN. I studied English at Grinnell College and I am now working toward my Masters in Education at the University of Minnesota. Before teaching at North Vista, I taught English in a small town in China, creative writing and theater at Broadway alternative school for teen parents in North Minneapolis, and I taught English and Social Studies part-time at Minnesota Transitions Charter School. In my spare time I ride and occasionally race bikes, particularly mountain bikes, I write, I love film, I play capoeira, and I am the bass player in a band that never performs. On top of all that, after seven years, I was recently married to the most wonderful person I have ever met, and I have a great dog named Benson.
